Things to ponder part 2

I got this in an email from a coworker and I thought they were great. I pulled out the best ones. I hope ya'll have a great day.
  • Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
  • Give a person a fish & you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet & they won't bother you for weeks.
  • Some people are like a Slinky..........not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs. (This one was my favorite)
  • Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
  • All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
  • Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
  • In the 60s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
  • We know exactly where one cow with Mad-cow-disease is located among the millions of cows in America, but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants & terrorists are located. Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration

New job!!!

Hey everyone. I am so happy to finally be able to say that I have a new job. We had been praying for this for a long time, and after God finally taught me alot about patience, our prayers were answered. I will be working at the State Board of Missions as the secretary (aka Ministry Assistant) to our former pastor, Brother Chip. He works in the LeaderCare and Church Administration office. It will be a super busy job, but I know that I will do great at it. My first day at the Baptist building will be July 9th. My office is giving me a going away lunch at Olive Garden next week, so that will be yummy and lots of fun. So thank you to everyone for your prayers (please keep them up). I really appreciate them.

P.S. I read this quote today, and I thought it was good. "Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction."

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing men that are in our lives. Jeremy and I were truly blessed with wonderful parents. Since it was Father's Day yesterday, I will give props to our Dads. My Dad, Tom, (aka Grandpa) and Jeremy's Dad, Buddy, (aka Papa), are just fantastic men. They are both funny, sweet, loving, and Godly examples of how fathers should be.

Which leads me to the newest Dad in our family, my wonderful husband Jeremy. This was his first official Father's Day. Whooo-hooo. Jeremy is a wonderful dad, and Jackson and I are so lucky that he is in our lives. He is willing to do anything that Jackson or I need, without even a complaint. We are so spoiled by him. Jackson told me to tell everyone that he loves his Daddy so much. I hope you had a fantastic Father's day!

Things to ponder...

Just curious...if you have any thoughts, please feel free to share.
  1. Why do crappy employees never get called on carpet?
  2. Why do people insist on driving slow in the fast lane?
  3. Why do people leave their Christmas lights up all year long. Helloo....If you were my neighbor, I would rip them down in the middle of the night.
  4. Why do parents let their kids continually act up in public, and give half-hearted commands..."Come here..don't do that...I said don't. Do I need to count to 3? 1........1 1/2 ....1 3/4..........2..........(I almost feel like screaming "Do I need to count to 3 for you??????? Obviously you don't know how. :) I may be eating these words in a few years, but I doubt it)
  5. Why do people put the toilet paper on the roll wrong. I mean, come on...any logical person would know that the paper is supposed to fall OVER the roll. Not where you have to reach behind the roll.
  6. How Macy instinctively knows that we are about to go for a W-A-L-K before you even say the words.

I guess that is it for now. Feel free to add some if you have good ponderable (is that a word) things.

10 whole months!!!

Jackson is 10 months old today, and boy has it flown by. He is walking all over the place now (when he wants to), saying "Mama", "Dada", and just within the last couple of days, "Gaga." He now has 5 teeth, and he has learned how to bite. We are trying to work on that, but we can't help but laughing at the stunned look he will give you when you tell him "No" for biting. It is like it breaks his heart. I guess we are going to have to work on that. It won't be so cute to have a 5 year old biting us :)

It has been a crazy and busy week for us this week. We have had VBS going on at church at night, so for me, I am literally running into the house from working all day, changing clothes, and heading out the door to church until 9 at night. Jeremy has done such a great job of holding down the fort at home, and actually got to see Jackson walk first. Jeremy's parents and sister, Amy, are coming in this weekend to visit with us, so we are excited about seeing them, and I would imagine, they are excited about seeing Jackson and all the new things he is doing.

I hope everyone has a great day and wonderful weekend. Bye!!!

New pics...

Jackson playing

Jackson was so cute last night. He is just all over the place. He actually walked for the first time last night! It was about 5 steps, from the couch to Jeremy. He looked as surprised as we were. I hope you enjoy the video.

The other Amy Wade...

Hey everyone. I just wanted to congratulate my favorite sister-in-law, the other Amy Elizabeth Wade, on her engagement to her great boyfriend Adam. They got engaged on Saturday night, and will get married on June 7th, 2008 (06/07/08...how cool is that?). Amy and Adam are such a sweet couple, and although I have only met Adam a few times, I know that he is a super guy. He would have to be...Amy has very good taste :) Keep Amy and Adam in your prayers as they begin to plan their wedding, and more importantly, as they begin a new family in Christ.
