Wedding Dress Challenge

398675_10151188930780019_28984400018_22995491_176738124_n[1]I was flipping through Red Book magazine the other day and saw a story about the Wedding Dress Challenge and I decided to give it a try. The challenge isn’t necessarily about fitting back into your wedding dress, but working towards something that gives you a set bench mark whether it is your wedding dress or a little black dress that you haven’t fit into in years. The challenge is running from now until June.

I’m going to put it all out there and tell y’all that I’ve been married for 10 years now, and I’m about 17 pounds heavier than I was when we got married. Granted, I’ve had 2 kids, but I’ve lost all my baby weight and then some. I don’t have any excuses for these last 17 pounds.

So I’m going to do my best to watch what I’m eating and get motivated to lose these last 17 pounds, and see if I can fit back into my wedding dress.

What do I have to lose by trying, other than a few pounds?

Good luck :) I think in some aspects weight loss is very similar to quitting smoking. It takes the person themselves to be ready and motivated to do it. Sometimes it takes a couple of failed attempts before there is success. So even if it doesn't happen this time (or hasn't happened in times before) there is no reason to give up completely. Just give it time and eventually you'll get there.

Your wedding dress is hanging in my closet. Feel free to try it on anytime you want.

P.S. There is NO way that I can fit into my wedding dress ... 39 years ago.
