So Long, Summer...

I've been a little remiss about posting lately. Call it a bloggers funk, call it a busy summer, call it whatever, I've just been practically gone. I don't like not blogging, but sometimes life is coming so fast I don't know which end is up. Here's what I do know...

  • School starts back on Monday, and that makes me very sad.
  • Allstars nearly did me in this summer. Major committment.
  • I am planning Jackson's birthday party for 2 weeks away, and I STILL haven't done thank you notes for Anderson's birthday party back in June. Or posted pictures. Or blogged about his Mickey Mouse birthday. Classic case of Second Child Syndrome.
  • I'm still obsessed with my Young Living Essential Oils. I'm loving them, and keep trying them for new ailments with major success. Consider me sold!
I guess that's it for today. I'll be back soon with better stuff for you. At least that's the plan. Take care!

Swim Lesson Success (For One Kid)

The boys are in swim lessons right now, and Jackson is doing great. Anderson however, has decided that he isn't keen on swim lessons this year. He did fine the first and second night, and then decided he had had enough of the lessons. I'm not pushing him because we do have access to my parents pool, and he swims just fine over there. I think he just doesn't care at all for his teacher. She kinda accidentally started to let him face plant into the water when she took off his life jacket, (she was holding him) and there has been no fireworks between the two of them ever since. Jackson is swimming like a fish, so much so, that he wants to do swim team next year. His strokes have improved so much in the course of a year, and this former lifeguard and competitive swimmer would love nothing more than for him to give it a try. Here are some pics and videos. Enjoy!

A Weekend In The 'Burg

We went to Hattiesburg, MS last weekend to visit Jeremy's family and had such a good time. We got to hang out with our nephew, Cannon all weekend, and he was so much fun! We had a great visit with Jeremy's Great Aunt Helen, who is pushing 90 years old, but could easily pass for 70. She is so sweet! After our visit, we went to Gatti town for pizza and arcade games and then got to hang out with Nikki (who the boys just love). On Sunday we went to Venture church for their Summer at the Movies series where we watched Frozen, saw Anna, Elsa and Olaf, walked in through a "snow" blaster, and enjoyed popcorn and cokes. As always, the weekend went by way too fast, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Papa and Gigi, and can't wait to see them again soon. Enjoy the pics!

Montgomery Biscuits Bat Kid

For the second year in a row I was able to get Jackson signed up as the Montgomery Biscuits Bat Kid for one of their games. The bat kid gets 4 tickets right behind home plate, a t shirt, the chance to play catch on the field before the game, throw out the first pitch, and take water to the umps during their breaks. Jackson had a blast! He did an amazing first pitch, and he loved playing catch on the field. One of the players, #24 Willie Argo, was wonderful with Jackson, asking him about his time on Allstars, what positions he liked to play, and encouraging him to keep it up. I loved watching them interacting with each other, and if Willie gets called up to the majors, Jackson will have a wonderful memory of a super kind ball player. Nana, Tata, KK, Jason, Luke, Nate and Tillie came out to support Jackson, and we all had a great time. Enjoy the pics!
