So it's been forever and a day since I blogged, but I'm back! We are officially done with 3rd grade (more on that tomorrow), finished with baseball for the season, and as of last night, finished with missions for the summer.
Whoooo-hooooo! Welcome to summer!
Except that Jeremy broke his hand on Tuesday night.
He slipped on some water that Macy had dripped on the kitchen floor, and slammed his left hand into the door frame of our bedroom. He toughed it out on Tuesday night thinking that maybe it was a deep bruise, but by Wednesday morning it was super swollen and so painful that Jeremy couldn't move it.
I took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with a boxer's fracture. You can see it on the left side of his x-ray below. It's the black streak in the middle of the bone between the bottom of his pinky and his wrist.
He was put in a gutter cast (which he can take off as needed), and
will follow up with another x-ray in 2 weeks. Thankfully it was a clean
break, and no visit to an orthopedic was necessary. It wasn't exactly how we wanted to start the summer off, but it could have been much worse. We have a beach trip scheduled for the end of June, so we are hoping he will be 100% by then. He has been a trooper, but it is no fun having a broken bone. Please keep him in your prayers.
