Best Birthday Wishes Ever!
I’ve told y’all before, but I absolutely loved former Miss America, Heather Whitestone. She is from Alabama, has been deaf since she was 18 months old, and she won the pageant in 1995 with her amazing ballet routine to Via Dolorosa. Seriously, I recorded that pageant and watched it over and over again after she was. Dorky, I know, but she was so beautiful, and since I had been in ballet since I was a child, I thought it was the most amazing talent routine ever, especially considering she couldn’t hear the music while she danced.
For months now, Heather Whitestone McCallum and I have been “friends” on Facebook. It made my day when she accepted my friend request right before the Miss America Pageant last year. I’ve commented on her page a few times when she posts pictures, and she “liked” a few of my comments, but yesterday, on my 32nd birthday, the coolest thing happened…
Heather Whitestone McCallum, former Miss America, told me “Happy Birthday!”
I know I should be embarrassed by how much I loved this, but seriously, I loved it! I would have to say I shocked even myself with how quickly I “liked” her status. I don’t dare reply for fear of sounding like a stalker, but only birthday wishes from George W. Bush could compare. Maybe next year I can get a “Happy Birthday” from W! A girl can dream, right?!?

I Couldn’t Make This Up If I Tried…
Jeremy and Jackson were at Wal-Mart the other day after school, and Jackson convinced Jeremy to walk down the Halloween aisles. They were busy looking at costumes and Jeremy turned onto the aisle where the Halloween masks were. That’s when Jackson piped up in his loudest possible voice, “That is the ugliest mask I have ever seen! Who on Earth would want that?”
Jeremy spun around and was faced with a huge display of Barack Obama masks.
Like I said, I couldn’t make it up if I had tried! We are now working on the whole “time and place” conversation, but I would have laughed at that regardless!

I Apologize
- I've had a migraine from Hades.
- Homework is taking forever.
- I'm a month behind on thank you notes from Jackson's birthday party.
- Our house is a disaster.
- Toys are scattered all over creation.
- The laundry isn't folded.
- The floors aren't vaccumed.
- The dishes are sitting in the sink.
- And the beds aren't made.
Love y'all!

A Future Lawyer???
Last night Jackson saw a commercial for some movie on tv last night and had Jeremy cracking up with his logic...
Jackson: "I want to go see that movie!"
Jeremy: "Sorry, Jackson, but that movie is rated PG-13. You have to be 13 years old to go see it."
Jackson: " That's not fair! You're not 13 and you get to go see it!"
Gotta love his reasoning!

Disney Day 3
We were back at Magic Kingdom bright and early Saturday morning and managed to get reservations for breakfast with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet at the Crystal Palace before the park even opened up. Our reservations were for 8:25, and we got into the park at 8:00. One of the Main Street vehicle drivers picked us up and took us for a ride down Main Street! We managed to get some amazing pictures of the Castle and Main street with no one else around. So much fun!
Breakfast was fun, and I picked Crystal Palace more for me than anyone else; I loved Pooh growing up, and even though I’m grown, it was fun spending time with the characters, especially Tigger who was always my favorite. We ate in a hurry because we wanted to be ready to go for rope drop, and we were right behind the Cast Members as they walked us from Main Street to Frontierland to get to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. We rode tons of rides again, and ate lunch at Casey’s hotdogs and then headed back over to Epcot to go to Turtle time with Crush and check out the Nemo ride. It was so worth it! Jackson had a blast exploring Epcot, and the funny thing was, we spent hours there and never once managed to make it over to the “countries” around the lake. Jeremy and I both designed rides at the Sum of All Thrills and that was incredible! We road Soarin’ again and the enjoyed ice cream sandwich cookies before making our way to the Polynesian show for a luau.
Literally the only glitch we had on our trip was during this trip to dinner. The monorail had issues (with us on it) and we didn’t move for about 20 minutes. I was panicked thinking we weren’t going to make our dinner reservations (and pay dearly for that), but our travel agent with Pixie vacations, Emily Roach, was a godsend. I texted her from the monorail and she took care of getting in touch with the restaurant and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. She was amazing!
Word to the wise…do not plan 8:00 pm dinner reservations for a 2 hour dinner after you have walked 800 miles around Disney for 3 days. The food was good, but we were zombies by the time the show actually started, and we headed out after an hour. By the time we got back to the hotel it was close to 10:00 and we had to pack to fly home the next day.
We had such an amazing trip, and I wouldn’t have done anything (other than the late dinner reservation) differently. Jackson loved flying in an airplane for the first time, and thanks to grandparents on both sides, we had such great one-on-one time with Jackson because we knew Anderson was having a blast at home. We can’t wait to take both the boys in a few years for another magical trip. Enjoy the pics!
Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our company…M-I-C…..See you real soon! K-E-Y…Why? Because we like you….M-O-U-S-E!!!!

Disney Day 2
We spent our entire second day at Disney at Magic Kingdom. I had ordered 3 custom tie-dyed Mickey shirts for us to wear this day, and they were a huge hit. We got compliments on them all day long, and it made it so easy to spot each other in the crowds. Every single day we were on our trip, we were standing in line to catch the busses 15 minutes before they would be scheduled to arrive, and we were at the parks an hour before they opened. We were first to get in the parks and made a beeline to whatever attraction was on the agenda. It’s not for everybody to do that, but we wanted to maximize our time in the parks, and it worked great for us. I think we got more accomplished in the 3 hours after the park opened than any other time of the day because of the low crowd numbers.
We didn’t have any reservations this day, and we enjoyed lunch at Pecos Bill’s and dinner at Pinnochio’s restaurant because we were riding out a torrential downpour that thankfully only lasted about 30 minutes. The park closed at 7 that night because of the NIghts of Joy, and we were there until 7! We had practically no lines the whole day, and we were able to ride Big Thunder Mountain 2 times without even getting off. Jackson loved every single ride that we went on, and Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain were by far his favorites! He and Jeremy made the Teacups spin until we couldn’t go any faster, and he thought that was one of the “most funnest things ever!” The Monsters’s Inc Comedy show was a favorite for Jeremy’s, and Jackson and I both loved Peter Pan’s ride through Neverland. So pretty! Enjoy the pics.
Stay tuned for Day 3!
