Hey everyone. We have just about recovered from a super busy and fun weekend in New Orleans. Our brother-in-law, Jason, graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary this past weekend. We went down to LA (our first trip since Katrina). It was so much fun. Jackson stayed with his Gigi and Pops in Hattiesburg, so it was just Jeremy and me on our own for the weekend. We arrived in New Orleans late Friday evening, and after dinner with Jason's family and my family, we went down to the French Quarter and walked around. Bourbon Street was interesting to say the least...
Saturday we got up early and went to Jason's graduation. It was without a doubt, the most dignified and respectful graduation that I have ever attended. I really liked it. After lunch at Bubba Gump's Shrimp company, Jeremy and I were on our own. We went back to the French Quarter later Saturday night, and went to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville for a "cheeseburger in paradise." How much fun is that!!! The food was great and we were whooped after being so busy.
Sunday morning Jeremy and I went on the Steamboat Natchez cruise down the Mississippi. It was a great day for a cruise. Not too hot, breezy...just perfect. After our cruise, we headed home, got Jackson in Gulfport, and got home late Sunday night. It was a wonderful weekend. The weather and the food were fantastic, and boy were we tired.
P.S. Our one souvenir of the trip was a shirt for Jackson. It has a big crawdad on the front, and the back says, "Who's your Crawdaddy?" I couldn't resist!
