Remember when I told you about our furry little friend that had taken up residence in our home.
Remember how I thought we had gotten rid of him?
I was wrong...
Over the past couple of days we had discovered some, ahem, evidence that he was still lurking around our house. So while I was at Wal-mart on Saturday I went ahead and bought some mousetraps. I don't like them, but I also don't like having a mouse running loose in my house.
Before bed last night Jeremy set two traps and baited them with peanut butter. As a side note, it was pretty funny watching Jeremy try to figure out how to set the traps. A few times it snapped, but luckily his fingers weren't near it at the time.
It did however scare the daylights out of Jackson.
And now neither Jackson nor I are a big fan of the mousetraps.
And it's times like these that I'm so glad that Jeremy's in the funeral directing business.
So without further adieu, let's take a moment of silence for our furry little friend....
Mouse, A. Harry, passed away suddenly at his home in Wade's World at 3:29 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009. He was enjoying his final meal here on earth when God snapped his fingers and called him Home. His former family likes to imagine that he is enjoying his days staring at Cheese-puff clouds, eating gourmet Swiss, and swimming around pools of melted Velveeta. He is survived by family and friends, who if smart, will be packing up and moving out of Wade's World as we speak. He was a smart, well educated mouse; he knew a glue trap when he saw one. He taught us much during his short life, the most important lesson being that choosy mice choose Jif. He will be fondly remembered as "that mouse that ran across Jeremy's foot." In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wade Family Disney fund.

A moment of silence ... well, that's done.
P.S. The Mexico fund comes before the Disney fund. Dream on!
That's one of the funniest things I've ever read. Thanks!
You crack me up...you even got an "that's awesome" out of Jason when i read it to him!
And now my moment of silence...so long A. Harry Mouse, you will be dearly (well maybe not) missed!
Ha ha! So long, sucker! Woo hoo!
So, did you hear the loud pop at 3:29 a.m., or is time of death approximate? Or did you have some CSI-type investigation? LOL.
No CSI investigation needed; we heard the pop at 3:29 in the morning. Then I promptly rolled over and went back to sleep. I let the funeral director take care of the disposal :)
That was hysterical! TOO funny! I too have a mouse story! One day after work I saw a mouse scurry across the floor board of my car. Now living in a house full of men who have crazy pets this did not really faze me. What fazed me was how it got there! I picked up the phone & called my hubby to ask him if he forgot to tell me something. He then proceeds to say "Oh yes! We lost a feeder mouse for Dustyn's snake in the car yesterday!" That darn mouse was loose in my car for almost 24 hours & survived in the FL heat! I must say he was resilient! I did not have the heart to kill him so there I was shooing him out into my mom's driveway. Little does she know! LOL!

You had me at "God snapped His fingers and called him home."
Oh my gosh! That is the funniest thing I've read in a looooong time! Glad you finally got him. :p
