Prayer Request

We just got word that Jeremy's sweet grandmother, Mamaw, passed away at home just a short while ago. Please be in prayer for his family, especially Jeremy's Mother (Gigi) and his Papaw. Mamaw and Papaw had been married for over 65 years and were just the embodiment of what a loving Christian marriage is all about. Please remember his family in your prayers, and us as we travel to Mississippi.

Prayer Request

Please be in prayer for my wonderful father-in-law, Buddy. He had a heart attack today and after a heart cath was done, and a stint was put in one artery, he is in CCU in Hattiesburg, MS. Hopefully he will be put in a "regular" room tomorrow. As soon as we heard what happened we packed up and headed out. Jeremy's dad is doing okay now, but I know that Jeremy's family would greatly appreciate your prayers....

Pray for Stellan

You may know the story of Stellan, the youngest child of MckMama. Before he was born his parents were told that he had some very serious heart conditions and very likely would not make it to birth. The family prayed for God's blessings on them, and their little MckMuffin, and Stellan was healed and was born a healthy full-term baby with no heart problems. Since then he has battled RSV, and is now in critical condition with the same heart conditions that plagued him in utero. Please pray for this sweet little 4 month old boy and his family. They know that God's plan for Stellan is bigger than they could ever imagine, but my heart is breaking for them as they face such mounting obstacles for their child.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

"…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20)

Say a little prayer...

My grandmother, Nanny, fell yesterday at her house and broke her left kneecap and her right tibia (shin bone). She had surgery on both legs late last night. Her left kneecap was, for all essential purposes, shattered, and they repaired it. The break in her right shin bone traveled up her leg and they had to put a rod into that leg. She will not be able to put any significant weight or bend her legs for quite a while. It will be a very slow recovery (at least 3-4 months). Please be in prayer for our family as we help her "walk" this road of recovery.

On a positive note: she seemed to be in very good spirits last night and this morning. Her only concern while we were waiting for surgery was that we find her a cute doctor to marry! She kept wanting us to put a sign on her bed that said: Man Wanted to Play Dominoes and Cards!!
At least her spirit isn't broken!!

Thanks for your prayers...

New blog prayer request

I somehow just stumbled onto the blog of the Benji and Rebekah Baker of Dallas, TX and I just had to share about them. Rebekah is 4 months pregnant with her second daughter, Gracie. The family just found out that their unborn little girl has a severe brain disorder and either Trisomy 13 or 18. The link to their original prayer request can be found here, and they just found out about this last Tuesday. If their baby makes it to full term, she is expected to not live much past birth.

The family is trusting God with their burden, knowing that whatever happens is in his divine plan, but they are praying for a miracle. Please visit them and say a prayer for baby Gracie, her Mommy and Daddy, and her big sister Caroline. They need all the prayers they can get at this difficult time.

Say a little prayer...

Tomorrow morning Jackson will have his 3rd set of tubes put in and also have his adenoids removed. Please say a little prayer that he will have an easy surgery and recovery, and that this set of tubes will do the trick.

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Update on Mr. Eddie

Mr. Eddie Harris passed away yesterday afternoon. It was his decision to be an organ donor, and he will forever live on through his final gifts of life.

God is good...

I went from from shock, grief and disbelief to joy in a second when I found out that he was an organ donor. Eddie will continue to live not only in a physical presence, but also in our hearts.

Please continue to remember his wife Karen and his children in your prayers. They have a long road ahead of them.

Urgent Prayer Request

I just left the hospital visiting some church members, Eddie and Karen Harris. Eddie had a double knee replacement yesterday, and sometime around 4:00 this morning he had a massive stroke. We got word through our church email prayer list and at that time all we knew was that Eddie had a blood clot, and since I work right next door to the hospital I decided to run over there and check on both of them.

Eddie and Karen are the nicest people you could meet, both with hearts of gold. Imagine my shock when I walked in to the hospital room to see 5 men from my church, Karen, and a doctor, all standing around Eddie's bed, with Eddie being completely unresponsive. I made it in time to hear the doctor tell Karen that he doesn't know when or if Eddie will completely recover.

Please lift the Eddie and Karen up in your prayers. Pray for complete and total recovery for Eddie, and that Karen has the strength to cope with the daily struggles that she will encounter in the upcoming weeks and months.

Much love...
